New secure CCTV system for oncology company

A new remote CCTV monitoring and security response system has been installed for Fresenius Kabi Oncology PLC, an oncology product packaging and distribution company, at its East Hampshire site, with the help of local security firm, ADP Security Systems Ltd. The networked CCTV system, comprising a number of internal and external cameras, will be remotely monitored by ADP at its CCTV control room situated some miles away. The system is fully supported with a rapid incident response service where a guard can be dispatched if required.

The sensitive and potentially harmful nature of medicines manufactured on site means that they have to be kept totally secure at all times of the day and night. The CCTV system comprises a mix of Pan-Tilt-Zoom and static cameras, networked over Internet Protocol (IP) to the ADP CCTV Monitoring Centre. The system is fully interactive, where the control room personnel can communicate directly with intruders via a tannoy system, viewing a real-time video picture of the whole client site. If needed, a mobile security patrol can attend within minutes of an incident arising. A number of approved Fresenius Kabi personnel have access to the images via the internal IT system. The CCTV images are regularly reviewed by ADP for quality purposes, and can be shared with the Police if required.

Mr Horst Schambock, acting site manager for Fresenius Kabi said: “We changed to remote CCTV monitoring a few years ago, as we found it more efficient than the previous guarding arrangement. We have now chosen to upgrade the system with the help of ADP Security Systems, as they are local, reliable and offer very competitive prices.”

Keirn Bush, business manager for ADP Security Systems stated: “In these difficult economic times we find that more of our clients are opting for a cost-effective security solution, and a monitored CCTV system certainly fits the bill. A well designed system can give the benefits of a guard on site at a fraction of the cost.”
